Kate MacLeod invites you to share in a celtic music workshop for
fiddlers and violinists. Kate, a studio musician, fiddler, songwriter,
vocalist and music teacher has studied and performed styles of fiddle
and violin playing including Classical, Bluegrass, Old Time, Celtic, Klezmer and Eastern European gypsy music. Kate specializes in celtic
fiddle styles and regularly travels to the British Isles to study from
the source. During this workshop, Irish and Scottish styles will be
studied along with their relationship to Cape Breton and the American
fiddle styles of Old-Time and Bluegrass. Participants areencouraged to
bring their instruments. This workshop will be informative for
classical musicians interested in fiddle, for music educators, for
fiddle players interested in stylistic differences between the celtic
fiddle styles and for those celtic fiddlers who want to share in the beauty of the celtic genre. For information and reservations contact:
